Varun Alagh is an alumnus of Delhi College of Engineering from where he completed his Bachelor of Engineering in 2005. He then completed his Masters in Finance and Marketing from XLRI, Jamshedpur, in 2007.
Varun started his career with Hindustan Unilever in 2007, and in 4 years and 11 months, he was twice listed amongst the top managers at Hindustan Unilever. In 2012, he joined Diageo PLC as Senior Brand Manager where he used to oversee the operations of the World’s largest Premium spirits brand – Smirnoff, which is also India’s largest Vodka brand. He also managed the ATL, BTL, Digital & Trade activations for Smirnoff all over India. Varun’s last stop before establishing Mamaearth was a renowned company, The Coca-Cola Company as Brand Manager in 2013 and was promoted to Senior Brand Manager in 2015. He played a significant role in the launch of Coca-Cola Zero across India. He won multiple awards and accolades during his career session, including Business Unit Presidents Award, Above and Beyond Award, and I am Diageo Award. He has over 10 years of experience with world-renowned FMCG brands in the field of sales and marketing.
Varun co-founded Mamaearth in 2016 along with Ghazal Alagh. When they faced a hard time finding chemical-free products for their son, they decided to establish a brand of their own. A brand which will provide 100% toxin-free baby products and help in making early parenting stress-free. Varun is the Co-founder and Chief Dad of Mamaearth, his understanding, and experience of the FMCG market has allowed him to develop, distribute, and market Mamaearth’s 100% toxin-free products.
