Mayank Sharma is currently the Senior Officer, Corporate Communications at Petronet LNG Ltd(PLL), Delhi – one of the fastest-growing world-class Public Limited Company

in the Indian energy sector. He is a communication professional and likes to call himself an artist at heart. Post his Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication, he has been on a journey to create a niche for himself in the industry. As a communication professional he has dived into the diverse opportunities with Advertising Agency, Pharma and Power Sector companies before joining PLL.

The 3 key marketing/communication achievement in the career at PLL are as follows:

  1. BRAND AWARENESS CAMPAIGN (SPECIFIC TO GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION)

On the occasion of World Environment Day, I conducted a week-long Brand Awareness campaign for PLL with BigFM at Delhi (NCR), Gujarat and Kerala and motivated the listeners to become green heroes with Petronet LNG. Also, promoted the work of several Green Activists who are contributing to our nature by preventing pollution and spreading awareness for the cause. The campaign was run widely on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn. Listeners participated in several contests where they were rewarded by PLL.

Outcome: Petronet LNG Ltd as an organisation is being known widely in these three regions.

  1. EXECUTING A CONSISTENT SOCIAL MEDIA BRANDING PLAN

After joining PLL in Nov 2019, the first and the foremost action I did was to start building a Social Media presence. The accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn were revamped. The organisation’s voice is being shared with the stakeholders in the form of posts and videos daily.

Outcome: There has been a strong increase in the audience connect with the organisation through Direct Messaging(DMs).

  1. EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT BEYOND

BOUNDARIES

During the lockdown, it was pertinent to engage employees and their family members with some engagement activities. Since no budget was allocated for this cause, I came up with an idea of doing a virtual singing competition by making employees record their song using singing apps like StarMaker and Smule. 100+ employees and their family members from Delhi, Dahej (Gujarat) and Kochi (Kerala) participated and submitted their entries which was then further shared on Microsoft Streams platform with all. Employees motivated each other with comments and likes and the 3-week long activity eased PLL employees amidst the pandemic. In the virtual finale Sa Re Ga Ma Pa winner – Mr Debojit Saha performed virtually for everyone.

Outcome: A strong association for the organization was developed due to this initiative. Various other engagement activities were done and are continued till now due to the success of this activity.
